Profile
Wynona is a second-year law student at UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law and the co-president of Allard’s Environmental Law Group. Prior to law school Wynona studied environmental science and biology. During her master’s degree, she examined the history of heavy metal contamination of lakes in the Alberta Oil Sands Region. She has worked as an environmental scientist on several research projects, including a community-based mercury monitoring project with Grassy Narrows First Nation in northern Ontario. She is passionate about environmental justice to promote positive social change and reform, hold industry accountable, and advocate for stronger environmental laws to avoid further unaddressed environmental injustices and degradation.
