Jianna Faner
Allard JD Candidate 2023
Profile
Jianna spent most of her childhood in Manila, Philippines before migrating to the unceded territories of the Kwikwetlem, Qayqayt and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. After graduating in 2018 with her B.A. in English Language & Literature from the University of British Columbia, she worked in communications and fundraising for a non-profit organization serving women and children fleeing violence. When deciding where to go for law school, she thought about leaving Vancouver for a “change of scenery”, then realized that the best scenery was right at home, so she is now in her second year in the J.D. program at Allard, and can often be found at Allard Hall studying, working or, more often, taking pictures of the view for Instagram instead of focusing on her reading.
